People Protests against false reporting of news in North Kashmir
Srinagar, April 28 (Scoop News) – Baramulla police assured the people of village Zeeran, Sawan and Qazipora for taking suitable action against false reporting of news by a local News agency regarding scandal in Zeeran.
Police said that People of village Zeeran, Sawan and Qazipora protested today against a news agency for publishing false, unauthentic and fabricated news regarding sex scandal busted at village Zeeran.
According to police the people of the area staged a protested against a false and fabricated news that was published in some local newspapers,dated 26.04.2012 for maligning the reputation of area and lodged a complaint against the news agency for defaming the name of the area as no such incident had occurred in the area except for an eve teasing incident to which case FIR No. 47/2012 U/S 294 RPC was registered in police station, Tangmarg against accused person Shabir Ahmed Wani son of Sonalullah Wani resident of Singhpora, Pattan. The accused has been arrested by the police in this case and is in police custody under remand.
The protestors were pacified by Police by assuring them that appropriate action would be initiated against such News agency. On police persuasion the protestors got pacified and dispersed peacefully.
