Rather announces revival of Arzan Garzan Dam
Srinagar,August 04(Scoop News) - Underscoring significance of Irrigation in boosting agriculture production, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today announced to revive once famous Arzan Garzan Dam at a cost of Rs 25 crore. The work on the Dam will be started in November this and will go a long way in bringing green revolution in the drought prone areas of Chrawni, Banhar, Zagipora, Dardpora and Malpora.
Addressing a public gathering at Chrawni village in Chrar-i-Sharief constituency, Rather also assured to revive Malpora Dam adding that DPR costing above Rs 50 crore has been prepared for the purpose. This Dam will benefit farmers of Sarai, Wadipora, Hayatpora villages also by way of providing adequate irrigate water facility.
Rather also announced upgradation of Allopathic Dispensary Chrawni to Primary Health Centre level adding that work on construction of PHC building shall be started shortly. He also announced to construct building for High School, Chrawni during the current year adding that a modern sports field will be constructed in the village providedsuitable land is identified for it.
Rather said that a massive road net work has been constructed in nook and corner of the Chrar-i-Shriwef constituency which has totally revolutionized its socio-economic transformation. He also announced macadamization of Zaipora-Darpora road besides construction of Chrawni to Tilsara road.
Responding to the demands of the people, Rather assured that on the spot Police recruitment drive will be launched in the area so that unemployed youth will get job opportunity. He also assured that Irrigation scheme, Zalsoo will be made functional very soon.
While seeking wholehearted cooperation of the people to supplement government efforts for ushering the state into an era of development and prosperity, Rather cautioned about the machination of the opposition who, he said, want to hoodwink public opinion through false propaganda and on frivolous issues. "They rely on lies only and the people have rejected them out-rightly for their misdeeds", Rather added.
Rather said objective of visiting the far-flung and remote areas along with officers and engineers is to get first hand appraisal about the problems of the people and to solve these instantly. "This way the administration reaches out at the doorsteps of the needy people", he added.
The District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Aleem-ud-Din, Chief Education Officer, Nazir Ahmad, concerned engineers of various departments accompanied the Minister.
