Appreciating the initiatives taken by the State Government for industrialization and providing package of concessions for investors, Rattan Tata said that he would explore possibilities of enhancing its association with Jammu and Kashmir trade and industry.

            Tata said that the endeavours of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to create jobs for educated youth in open job market by enhancing their skills and employability is laudable and Indian industry has a role to contribute in this stupendous task. He said that Jammu and Kashmir possesses vast potential for investors in various sectors.

            Omar Abdullah stressed on the need of large scale investment by the Indian business houses in the State in potential sectors of agriculture, health, education, software engineering, food processing, information technology, tourism, leather industry, handicrafts, handlooms, horticulture, cultivation of medicinal plants, generation of hydro power and utilization of biomass for energy production besides other sectors.

            The Chief Minister also emphasized the role of private sector to provide employment to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He said youth of Jammu and Kashmir are second to none in their ability and enthusiasm. “They can easily prove their mettle and capacity if given suitable chances”, he added.

Omar Abdullah asked Rattan Tata to be part of the economic growth and development in Jammu and Kashmir in a bigger way by investing here and also persuading other industrialists for the same. “The atmosphere is conducive for investors to invest and create symbiotic relations with Jammu and Kashmir trade and industry”, he said.
