Reliance TimeOut opens first store in Kolkata
Reliance TimeOut, a specialty format of Mukesh Ambani run Reliance Industries Limted (RIL), has just recently opened its first store in the West Bengal capital of Kolkata. Located at the Axis Mall at New Town, Rajarhat, on the outskirts of Kolkata, the store spreads across 7,000 square feet of space. It offers to its customers a wide range of product choices including over 15,000 books and magazines, over 9,000 music and movie titles, more than 2000 stationery items and a wide range of gifts and toys.
After successful launches in the cities of Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Pune and others, this store marks the 26th Reliance TimeOut outlet in the country and the first one in Kolkata. Dipak Marwah, business head, Reliance TimeOut said, “Kolkata is known for its avid and knowledgeable books, movies and music consumers and we are sure that they will enjoy the experience that we have specially designed for them.”
Designed especially to cater to the literati elements in Kolkata, the Reliance TimeOut store hopes to appeal to the prolific and profound history the city beckons with literature and art.
Reliance TimeOut has seen gradual growth in its popularity quotient in the last couple of years. On an average day, around 4000 to 5000 footfalls are recorded at each store, leading to a rise of 26% in the overall sales. Reliance TimeOut has predominantly gained popularity for its exclusive book reading sessions, books and music launches, author interaction sessions and their flagship book club. The stores also feature performances by many upcoming artists and for children; special interactive events are organized on a regular basis.
