South Korean tourist killed by North Korean Soldier

North Korean soldier killed a South Korean tourist who was strolling on the beach near The Mountain resort at Kumgang in the early hours of  Friday morning. She entered into the military area of North Korea by climbing the fence and was shot down by a sentry.

The deceased was 53 years old woman and identified with her family name Park.

South Korea will closed The Mountain resort at Kumgang from Saturday as a precaution, Unification ministry official Kim Ho-nyoun informed in a news conference. He will also hopeful that North Korea will take appropriate action as this incident was disappointing.source Reuter

According to South Korean president, the incident is regrettable.

The resort was opened by Hyundai Groups in 1988 and visited by millions of South Koreans.

It is not confirmed whether the women climbed the fence or not.

About 13,000 tourists start returning home from Kumgang.
