Sufi Muahammad’s son is killed in the attack in Lower Dir

Lower Dir, Pakistan: In an attack, the TNSM chief Maulana Sufi Muhammad’s son, Kifayat ullah was killed, according to media reports.

The security forces pounded the different areas of Swat and Buner today and some 75 Taliban militants were killed in the attacks that include a Taliban commander, Ibne Kafeel too.

People are fleeing the Buner and other parts of Swat towards safer and peaceful parts of the province or towards the refugee camps that have been established by the government.

The Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani addressed the nation today in his televised address he said the Pakistan army has been called in to eliminate the insurgency from Swat valley and other adjacent areas.

We have provided enough funds to the provincial government of North Western Pakistan for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) from Swat, Buner and Lower Dir.

We enforced the Nizam-e-Adl, NAR 2009 in Malakand division in order to stop the bloodshed and bring peace but the terrorist elements continued to challenge the writ of the government.

Although the government adopted the path of talks and negotiations with the insurgents but the Taliban insurgents kept targeting the government set ups, military convoys and security personnel, so all the efforts and bids to bring about peace in the region failed and we compelled to take some decisive steps, he added.
