Thousands of Gandhians pay tributes to Gandhi in J&K,Brig. Gupta,Wani,Renzu honoured



 


Jammu,January 30(Scoop News) - In connection with the observance of death anniversary of  father of nation Mahatma Gandhi, an impressive function was organized  today by Gandhian Global family J & K Branch  in association with seven other sister organizations namely  Akhil Bharat Rachnatamak Samaj, Gandhi Peace foundation, Sadbhavna- ke –Sipahi, Youth Hostels Association of India, Gandhian Workers Foundation , Srinagar, JK Senior citizens welfare council and Jammu Kashmir Taameeri Maushra      at  Dewan-i- Aam  Mubarak Mandi Jammu.


 


                Amidst thousands of Gandhians, students from different Colleges, Schools NCC cadets and a galaxy of personalities including minister for R&B  G.M Saroori, Minister for Agriculture  Gulam Hassan Mir, President Gandhian Family State President Jammu & Kashmir  S P Verma, MLC,  B.R Kundal, Director General of Police,  Kuldeep Khoda, President Sadbhavna-ke-Sipahi Madam Joshi,  Padham Vibhushan  Balraj Puri, Director Information Kh. Farooq Renzu, Director  Higher Education, Dr. N.D Wani Brig. Anil Gupta  (NCC), Director Floriculture  were present on the occasion.


                On the occasion as a mark of respect to Gandhiji, a two minutes silence was observed in the entire J&K State.  The special oath was also taken for spreading the message of peace throughout the world. 


 


On this occasion Union Health Minister  Ghulam Nabi Azad presented live address to the audience through satellite which was heard by thousands of Gandhians with pin-drop silence.   Azad who is the global head of Gandhian Global Family said that  Gandhiji was a  symbol of peace , brotherhood, mutual love  and  amity,  his strong adherence  to truth is the  only way which can make the entire society as pure and  worth-living.  He said that principle of non-violence, socialism and secularism propagated by Gandhji during his life time are more relevant at present and only through these routes world can   usher in an era of peace and tranquility.  He said that Gandhi always emphasized that the children are future of nation and therefore it is very necessary for new generation to understand the pure philosophy of brotherhood concealed in the Gandhian Doctrine.  He said that Gandhi always cautioned tobe aware of such forces who have an agenda to divide people on the name of religion, race, cast and region. He complemented all the Ministers and participants who were present on the occasion and also to those who were honoured .  He conveyed best wishes to  S.P Varma for organizing such an impressive function.


On the occasion the Gandhian Global Family honoured Brig. Anil Gupta, NCC, Director Information, Kh. Farooq Renzu, Director Higher Education,  N.D Wani and Social activist  Labha Ram Gandhi.


 


While speaking on the occaction, the Minister said that Mahatma always believed in non-violence and adopted it as his principle. He said for the freedom of the country, Gandhi Ji never adopted the path of violence.


 Saroori said that non-violence movement started by Gandhi Ji compelled the British Rulers to set India free. He said that the best way to pay homage to the leader is to adopt the principles of non-violence in our lives. He said the world recognized Gandhi as a shining star of peace.


 Warning the anti national elements,  Saroori said those who are working on their hidden agenda of dividing people on communal and regional lines would not be allowed to succeed in their malicious plans.


Paying homage to Gandhain followers like s. Nirmala Deshpandy and  Sunil Dutt,  Saroori said the contribution they made for spreading the peace message would be remembered for a long time to come. He said they worked for unity and the integrity of the nation besides spreading Gandhian philosophy all along their lives. 


 Saroori said Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA, Chairperson s. Sonia Gandhi want to make Jammu and Kashmir a Model State adding that peace is imperative for this. He said Government has formulated massive development plans for transformation of socio-economic status of people.


 Ghulam Hassan Mir while paying tributes to the father of nation said that Gandhiji’s doctrine of “Truth and Aahinsa” is the only mantra which can save the present society which lacks moral values and ethics. He said that the real tributes to Gandhiji is to follow his principles of  non-violence  social justice and equality.
