Thousands of House were Submerged



JEMBER -1/11/09. In a day, five districts in the area of Jember soaked by floods . Mixed with mud floods occurred in the region Tempurejo, Jenggawah, Silo, Mayang, and Ambulu. The most serious occurred in the region Jenggawah and Silo.

At least 1,000 houses submerged in flood Jatimulyo village, 700 houses in the village Sruni, and 160 houses in the village Cangkring, District Jenggawah.


flooding large areas in the District  Silo also lead to damaged 5 houses in the village of Garahan, 15 houses damaged in the Village of Pace, and 1 brought by water flow in the village Sumberjati.


In separate places, flooding large areas in the District Tempurejo also caused 600 houses submerged in flood at Curahlele village, Wonoasri Village . Meanwhile, in the dusun Krajan, Tempurejo village, flood causing 2 houses damage and 2 schools submerged.


also with the flooding in the District of Mayang, has resulted in 2 houses in the village of Mayang severe damage. Meanwhile, in the Village Dam Seputih one damaged and one channel water away.


According to Yono, 28, of dusun Curahrejo, Cangkring Village, Jenggawah, large floods in the region occurred at around 01.00. Before the floods came, he had heard the thundering sound. Location is quite near the house, about 30 meters from the river.


Viewing conditions, the Chairman of the village Jatimulyo M. Sholeh immediately evacuate residents. "Hundreds of residents evacuated to the office of the Central Village 300 meters distance from the river. Includes livestock also put us in the vicinity of the village hall," he said.

Due to river overflow, he said,the water run over to the highway from the village Cangkring to Sidodadi, District Tempurejo. the residents back to the house after the water began to subside.


Fortunately, there are no victims in this flood that submerged 5 districts.
