Three arrested for the murder of a Jeweler in Chadoora

January 24, 2012 SSP Budgam Uttam Chand in a press conference today said that on 22.01.2012 family of Nazir Ahmad Dar a Gold smith by profession son of Abdul Gaffar resident of Badipora, lodged a missing report regarding his disappearance at police station Chadoora.
The body of Nazir Ahmad Dar was recovered from village Dalipora Nagam yesterday, underneath a culvert at Dalipora Nagam near Mosque.
Chadoora police has registered a FIR No. 10/2012 under section 302/ RPC started the investigation of the murder case. Autopsy of the body was conducted at District Hospital Budgam and the dead body has been handed over to the relatives of the deceased.
SSP Budgam said that during the investigations, police zeroed in on three persons Hilal Ahmad Yatoo son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Dalipora Nagam (Shopkeeper), Shabir Ahmad Lone son of Aziz Lone resident of Dalipora and Ghulam Qadir Yatoo son of Karim resident of Dalipora, who were taken into custody. On their questioning it was revealed that the trio had killed the Nazir Ahmad Dar for his golden ornaments that he always left at his shop after leaving for his home.
SSP added that Hilal Ahmad Yatoo and Shabir Ahmad Lone were watching the activities of the deceased for last twenty days and it was confirmed by them that the deceased goes by foot on way to his home in the late evening from Badipora to Ratherpora. The duo accused planned to take away the keys of the locker from the deceased but prior to that wanted to confirm the quantity of the gold items the deceased keeps in his locker. The duo planned to purchase gold items from the deceased so that they could ascertain the quantity of the gold items which are being kept by the deceased in his locker.
A few days back the duo Hilal Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad went to the shop of the deceased to purchase some gold items from the deceased for the marriage of accused Hilal Ahmad and made the purchase of the gold items worth Rs. 84000/- and gave an amount of Rs. 50000/- in cash besides a post dated cheque for Rs. 17000/-and asked the deceased to collect rest amount of Rs. 17000/- from his residence.
On 21st Jan, 2012 Hilal Ahmad called up the deceased to collect the money from his residence. When the deceased reached to the house of accused Hilal Ahmad, his father Ghulam Qadir Yatoo gave ring to Hilal ahmad to come his home and give the amount of Rs. 17000/- to deceased, after taking a cup of tea the deceased took the balance amount of Rs. 17000/-
As soon as the deceased came out of the house of accused Hilal Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad who was hiding in a tin shed just adjacent to the house of the accused struck with iron rod on the deceased who died on spot.
All the three accused persons took the body of the deceased and was hide in a tin shed and wood shavings were laid on his body. The accused persons took away the key of the locker and the shop of the deceased from his pocket and during night hours the body was put into the gunny bags and thereafter dumped it beneath a culvert at Dalipora Nagam where from the body was recovered.
An iron rod used for the commission of the offence stands recovered. The keys of the shop also stands recovered from the accused person on their confession.
The accused have been arrested and are being produced before the judicial magistrate for police remand. The further investigation is going on.
