Trade Mafia Harrasing mobile venders

Chitrali lamented Trade Mafia for conspiracy to stop mobile greengrocers.

CHITRAL:  Residents of Chitral strongly criticized trade mafia who are busy in a conspiracy against mobile greengrocers who carrying vegetable in their vehicle and selling it at a very low and cheap rate as mobile venders. A government official on condition of anonymity told this scribe that local shopkeepers and greengrocers were looting the people with both hands by selling vegetables and edible things on a very high price (rate) but when non local venders carrying vegetables in vehicles and selling it as mobile vender  on a very cheap as comparative to local shopkeepers as a result  trade mafia shocked and they submitted applications to DCO and DPO to stop these mobile venders. When president of Trade union Haji Habib Hussain Mughal contacted he confirmed and said that we had submitted an application to allow local traders that they too sell vegetable as mobile vender in their vehicles but we were not allowed to do so because of blocking of traffic. District Police Officer Chitral Muhammad Jaafar Khan replied when he was contacted in this regard that local shopkeepers took the plea that they paying tax and mobile venders pay no tax that is why they appose them and trying to stop them. But it was confirmed from the concern authority that Chitral is a tax free zone and no shopkeeper pay any tax but they only want to mislead ( misguide) the local administration and police by this way.

A number of citizen complained that local shopkeepers motivating traffic police to book and fine mobile greengrocers and using different tactics to discourage them and to create hurdles in their way to not carry vegetables for selling it on a very cheap rate. It is worth to mention here that before opening of Lawari tunnel for passengers and vehicular traffic local shopkeepers and greengrocers were selling tomato @ 40 to 50 rupees per KG but mobile venders selling it @ 20 rupees similarly they were  selling every items of vegetable  on double and triple rate as comparative to mobile venders. But when Lawari tunnel was open for vehicular traffic and non local people carrying vegetable and fruits in vehicles and selling it a very cheap and reasonable rate as a result people not purchasing these things from local shopkeepers and that is why they using different tactics to discourage and for failure of these vendors. Social and political circle of the area and president Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Abdul Nasir have warned these mafia and requested local administration for cooperation these venders because the rendering great service to poor people by selling edible thing with a very low and cheap rate. They also have appeal DPO Chitral to direct traffic police to not harass and worry these mobile greengrocers on gesture of local shopkeepers so as to continue their service and local people get benefits from them.   They have warned if these mafia not stopped these tactics they will approach to the court of justice against this conspiracy against mobile venders because according to constitution of Pakistan every Pakistani is allow to mobile and do work at any part of the country.
