Twenty five bonded laborers from Orissa rescued from Bangalore

Over the years, the issue of bonded laborers has become grave in Orissa. Human trafficking for various nasty professions, exploitation of manual workers at workplaces outside state, child labors are still continuing openly despite government’s initiatives to curb those by stricter laws.

Generally people who migrate to places outside Orissa as bonded laborers are promised lucrative things at first and finally when they reach such work places and given the works, life becomes hellish for them under an extremely exploiting and demanding work atmosphere and bossism.

Administration in Orissa has become successful in rescuing twenty-five workers, who were working in brick kilns at Bangalore and living their lives under extreme exploitation by the owners. Government of Orissa sought the help of local administration at Bangalore and successfully brought them back to Orissa.
