Virgin Galactic's New White Knight Two Plane Unveiled

Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic Company unveiled the White Knight Two today, one part the company's consumer space travel program.

The White Knight Two is an airplane that will take Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo six-seater space ships to 50,000 feet from which they can boost themselves into space, about 65 miles above the earth.

The plane has a wingspan of 140 feet and is made of carbon-composite, the largest of its kind. Virgin Galactic also says that the plane will be environmentally friendly because of its light weight and fuel efficiency. 

The price of a ride on the White Knight Two is currently $200,000.
