My heart swung in its center with lots of hopes and dreams,
a soul on fire burned to ashes the years of love and memories.

A fiery flame sped straight through my hurting soul;
tears caused burning eyes like they were hot coals.
A blackened sea raged to destroy a healthy heart,
I felt lost and couldn't imagine us being apart.
His hateful words richocheted inside a fractured mind,
"Get out of here woman, you're "no" longer mine."

Darkness bolted and lit upon my soul that day,
stole my feelings, emotions, and destroyed my way.
A bruised and broken heart has trouble trying to beat,
needs a sewing and stitching to make it complete.
He departed like swift gusts vanishing into the air,
no reasons and not caring if it was wrong or fair.
