Dallin Larson's Monavie Açai Juice Successful Business Model
In 2005, Dallin Larson founded the company Monavie that produces an anti-oxidant rich fruit juice made from the açai berry of Brazil. Three years later, Monavie has legions of devoted followers who claim the drink has healing and life-giving powers. At $40 a bottle, Dallin Larson isn't complaining.
Dallin Larson has implemented a business model that is just as interesting as the list of celebrities who have endorsed Monavie and its healing powers. Monavie is not available in stores but is sold by normal people who get a commission for each bottle they sell. Monavie said that they have had over $1 billion dollars in sales and have made dozens of their unsalaried "salespeople" into millionaires from sales commissions. Since the company is private and has not released official financial data, there is no way to validate their claims.
Dallin Larson said that his legions of salespeople grows at a rate of 10,000 per week and has reached five continents. Since Monavie is just a juice, Dallin Larson cannot legal advertise the product as a miracle cure-all. He is not responsible for what his salespeople might say, however, a genius way to avoid FDA regulations.
