Energy demands have almost doubled in the last three decades



Energy resourses are very essential for human society. Energy consumers in the developing world falls into two distinct groups. First, those with access to modern commercial fuels like petroleum products, natural gas and electricity live in primarily in urban areas. On the other hand, those living in rural areas continue to rely heavly on traditional biomass fuels like wood, crop waste and animal dung. The typical rural economy is subsistance-based and has little access to commercial fuels and services.


Energy demands have almost doubled in the last three decades. It is set to increase by fifty per cent by 2030 and could double or even triple by 2050. the demand for gas has increased rapidly, doubling between 1980 and 2008.


The world's total demand is set to increase at even steeper rate than the world's rising population. In the last forty years, the world's poulation has doubled to around 6.5 billion. The rate of population growth is slowing but it is still high in the Middle East, India, South east Asia, latin america. United Nations forecastes expected the population to top nine billion by 2050 bringing huge energy demands.
