Quality management must to produce capable human resources: Chib
Jammu, February 26 (Scoop News) – J&K Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Prof. R. S. Chib while underscoring the need of quality management in colleges and universities, said responsibility of producing efficient and capable human resources lies primarily on the institutional management.
The Minister was speaking at a State Level Seminar on “Total Quality Management in Higher Education” held in Sacred Heart College of Education here today.
Prof. Chib said quality management has to be maintained at every level in education sector. He said competent faculty and experienced management can only maintain quality in education sector.
Referring to quality management by Private educational institutes, Prof. Chib said Private Educational colleges are excelling in imparting quality education to the students due to their efficient management skills. This, he said has helped the State to evolve into hub of academic excellence.
The Minister said that the Union Government has taken various initiatives to expand the access of higher education so that the deprived get opportunity of higher education at their doorsteps. He also expressed his gratitude to the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development for opening of two Central Universities in the State.
It is the need of the hour to focus on the skill development to counter the unemployment problem, he said and added that the Union Ministry is planning to open over 12,000 ITIs and skill Development Centres in the Country.
The Minister said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is also keen to upgrade the infrastructure in the education sector and in this regard various initiatives have been taken.
Prof Chib said that the deliberations of the topic will be beneficial for the participants during the seminar.
