Vedic Farming Produces A Rich Crop
One farmer named Ramesh Chandra Tiwari of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh state in Indiais a happy man today.Four years ago when the Central Horticulture Sub-tropical ResearchInstitute(CHSRI) gave the idea of Vedic farming to farmers in Unnao,Ramesh was among the many who took up to farming according to this method.
But soon many farmers in this mango belt gave it up to return to the modern method of agro-chemicals farming.Ramesh though stuck on with vedic farming.Result is - this ancient Indian farming technique has enabled him to reap rich dividends.The yield has kept increasing year after year on his 12-bigha mango orchard and there are none of the usual pests to be found near the trees.
This successful farmer who has struck gold has also imparted the training in vedic farming to farmers and people from Austria,Australia,Turkey,United States,Spain and other countries apart from his counterparts in the neighbouring areas.
In Vedic farming a 'yajna' or 'havan' is performed by lighting a ritual fire and putting various things in it amid the chanting of Vedic mantras.Thus this farming technique is a mix of performing rituals and using organic fertilisers.Last month Ramesh organised a fair and invited farmers and scientists around the globe.
