Dear God! Does Anyone Really Care?
A Conversation With God In Prayer
Is anyone there?
Is anyone listening?
Does anyone really care?
I am penniless. I am poor. I am destitute. Is anyone there? Is anyone Listening?Does anyone care?
I am homeless and living in the street. I am invisible. Is anyone there? Can anyone see me? Does anyone care?
My clothes are but rags, all tattered and torn. My appearance disheveled, and I am forlorn. Is anyone there? Does anyone see me? Does anyone care?
My home is this gutter. I haven't eaten in weeks. My belly's distended. I feel so weak. Is anyone there? Does anyone see me? Does anyone care?
My pulse is fading. I'll soon be dead. My wound is unseen. It's this throb in my heart, and I scream. Is anyone there? Is anyone listening? Does anyone really care.
Suddenly I hear a whisper, from out of nowhere it comes, and a soothing hand I feel stroking my brow.
I heard your cry. I feel your pain your dispair.
God is here now and for you I will care, and He picked me up craddled me in His arms as He carried me to His Mansion, I was out of harm.
Someone was there, someone was listening, someone does care, GOD.
Jesus reminds us of the following:
MATTHEW:25: 33 - 40
"And he shall set the sheep on His right and the goats on the left. Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was hungered and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger and ye took me in: Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came to me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger and took thee in? or naked and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Insomuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my bretheren, ye have done it unto me."
Ask yourself this. How many times do you see that poor soul, begging change at the coffee shop and simply pass them by? Is this what Jesus would want you to do?
How many times have you seen some homeless person standing on a street corner, begging change for some food and you've just passed them by?
How many times as you walked downtown has there been some soul sleeping on the gutter grates to keep warm and you pretend like they are not there or simply step over them?
How many times have you driven past a street corner and seen some young teenage girl standing there selling herself, or maybe it was a young teenage boy doing the same thing, to earn some money just to survive?
How many times have you seen someone laying injured on the road or the sidewalk and just kept walking? Is this the sort of response and attitude Jesus expects from us as Christians.
When your Thanksgiving comes, who is going to be seated at your table, God and family of course, but will there be a seat for anyone else?
How often have you witnessed someone being bullied and said nothing and ignored it, or maybe someone was being robbed and you did nothing, you even refused to give witness to the authorities?
If this is how you demonstrate your "Christianity" shame on you, and woe unto you. Where is the compassion God and Jesus expect you to demonstrate?
