How to Make a Christmas Wreath



Christmas wreaths can be made out of just about anything being used in several ways, Whether hung on your front door or above a crackling fireplace, as they represent a symbol and a tradition of the holiday season. Some fresh greenery wreaths will provide a true delight for the eye, due to their beautiful image and to the way they perfume the air around them.

Christmas wreaths have a unique effect over the appearance of a house or place, being made from unconventional colors to unusual materials. There are various wreath forms, such as : Styrofoam, straw, grapevine, nito, wire clamp style wreath forms, Oasis wet foam wreath forms and box wired. You can use beautiful colors of fall leaves, sunflowers, lavender, eucalyptus, wheat and more. Your friends and family will remember for sure that personal touch!

In order to create your own personalized Christmas wreath, you have to choose the colors and the model of the wreath. For a silver wreath, you need :

- 14-inch white foam wreath

- 6 yards white feather boa

- Assorted evergreen sprigs

- Hot glue gun, glue sticks

- Floral U pins

- 31/2 yards silver metallic ribbon

- 11/2 inches wide

- 4 yards blue metallic wire

- Scissors

- Christmas balls

- Floral wire

- Iridescent tissue paper

- 5 floral picks, 2 inches each

- Silver foliage sprays

- Ivy leaves

- Chenille stem

The first thing you have to do is to start creating the outside edge by fixing the feather boa around wreath with U pins, doing the same until you reach the middle-top of wreath. The feathers will cover the inside edge.

Using the wire cutters, cut evergreen sprigs into small pieces, using U pins and hot glue in order to place them across top of wreath in an arc.

Form the silver ribbon, respecting the measures, a 6-loop bow with 3-inch loops and 12-inch streamers, fixing them in center with the floral wire. Use some glue in middle of evergreens, placing steamers for creating the impression of a cascade. The trim ribbon must end on a diagonal.

Form a multiple bow by using the blue wire and fix it in center with the floral wire.Add some glue on top.Cut the tissue paper into five 4-inch squares, modelling each into a puff and attach to a floral pick. Insert them around the bows.

Add glue for fixing the ivy leaves, the silver foliage and the Christmas balls.

Insert the chenille stem into top back of wreath for a hanger, after you twisted it into a loop, using floral U pins and glue for fixing it.
