Mac And Cheese Surprise

I love comfort food and Mac and Cheese is one of my favorite dishes to sit down to. I hope you find this recipe as tasty as I have. It's easy to prepare, and makes one feel oh so comfy and cozy as you sit down to a plate of it whether as an Entree, or, as a Sidedish. Here's what you'll require to make the yummie dish for yourself.

2 Cups Elbow Macaroni

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Salted Butter

1/2 Teaspoon Kosher Salt or Table Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper

2 Tablespoons Flour

2 Cups Milk

5 Cups Cheddar Cheese ( Sharp )

1and a 1/2 Pounds Medium Shrimp ( Split )

12 Strips Bacon ( Fried )

( Optional ) If desired an extra 12 Strips of Bacon ( Fried) for topping

Preparations:Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees F.

Fry up the Bacon strips

Being a Gourmet Food Lover I usually would cook up double the Bacon so that I could place a second layering over the top, but that's just me, I love treating myself.

Grease your 9" X 13" Bake Dish you can using a cooking spray or, simply wipe the dish with some cooking oil or even butter. This is just to help try and prevent sticking.

Cook your Elbow Macaroni until el dente, drain it and let it sit

Warm up a large Sauce Pan on Medium heat and add in Butter, Flour, Salt, and Pepper

Slowly stir in your milk and then stir in 3 Cups of your Cheddar Cheese

Now add in your Shrimp and your Macaroni and stir until creamy and fully blended

Assembling Casserole for oven:Layer a half of your Macaroni and Cheese mixture into the bottom of your Casserole Dish.

Lay your Fried Bacon Strips Horizontally ontop of your Mixture and lay in the remainder of your mixture. Level it out nicely.

Sprinkle on your remaining 2 Cups of Cheese over the top.

Place your dish into your pre-heated Oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or, until the cheese is melted and a golden brown

Remove from the oven and let stand for about 10 minutes allowing it to cool just a little and for the cheese to marry with the macaroni.

Time to serve and eat. As a side dish for this meal, serve up a dish of Toasted Garlic/Cheese Bread
