China in midst of sexual revolution

China is in  the middle of a sexual revolution as a result of rising prosperity and the looser of the gouvernment restrictions on citizens' private life. This attitude about sex is a historic turn around from the days when love and sex were considered bourgeois decadence and unisex Mao suits were the style.

Everything happens behind closed doors and the word "xing"("sex") is still said only between close friends and by whisper. Obviously the sex education has not kept up with the sexual activity.

Today 60 to 70 percent of the Chinese have had sex before marriage in contrast to only 15 percent in 1989.
