One Hot Commute

I love my apartment.  I love that it's got a passcode-protected front door, pleasant enough neighbors, and just enough space to make me feel appreciative.

The thing I love the most about it, however, is that it's situated almost equi-distant between two subway stops: the J and the L.

I said ALMOST because, truth be told, the J may in fact be closer.  Not close enough to tempt me most days--unless I realize just before I run out the door that it's 8:47 and I need to move my ass.

If I'm being completely honest with myself, the reason I leave kind of early, always wear my cuter winter coat, and never forget to apply blush in the morning is because nearly (and I mean NEARLY) everyone on the L train in the morning is reasonably good looking.  Not in a self esteem-damaging kind of way, either: they are all relatively young, creatively dressed and made up in their attempts to look unique and fashion forward.  It's my favorite aspect of the morning commute.

If you can call three subway stops a commute, that is.  Sometimes two, if I want the Mud Truck.

But how did this happen?  Are there other subway lines with fairly attractive commuters that early in the morning somewhere else in the city?  I've ridden my fair share of subways, and I must say, the L has pretty much the yummiest customers.  Not that I get on the subway and have the sudden urge to make out with everyone at once; that would be tacky.  But I definitely let me eyes wander and take in all the faux fur, the glitter eyeshadow (so early in the morning?), the mohawks and blunt cut bangs and untied bootlaces (almost a danger risk, but they seem to manage).

I guess, if I ever did have the balls to say something, it would probably just be:

Thanks, all you good looking people, for making my morning commute that much more attractive.
