Vodka Drinks for a New Year's Eve Party- MOST DIVINE COCKTEILS



Cosmopolitan

Cosmopolitan is probably the most widely known of the new-age cocktail classics. If you want to impress your friends on the New Year' s Eve Party , surprise them with a martini glass full of this sophisticated orange, cranberry, and vodka-flavored smoothie.


1/4 cup vodka

1 tablespoon cranberry juice

1/2 tablespoon Cointreau or your favorite orange liqueur

1 cup diced oranges

3/4 cup orange sorbet

Place the vodka, cranberry juice, Cointreau, orange, and sorbet in a blender and mix on low speed until the mixture is blended. Continue mixing, gradually increasing the speed, until the mixture is smooth. Pour the smoothie into a wine goblet or glass and garnish the rim with an Orange Wheel, if desired.

Mai Tai

Makes 2 servings

This delicious drink will take you to a tropical island on even the coldest of days.


1 to 2 oranges, peeled and segmented

1/2 lemon, peeled and halved

1 cup cubed fresh pineapples

6 tablespoons light rum

2 tablespoons votka

2 tablespoons orange Curacao or other orange liqueur

6 tablespoons dark rum

Add the oranges to the juicer, and process until you have at least 3/4 cup juice. Transfer the juice to a pitcher. Next, process the lemon until you have at least 1/3 cup juice. Transfer this juice to the pitcher, add the light rum, votka and curacao, and mix well. Pour the mixture over crushed ice into two chilled hurricane glasses. Float equal amounts of dark rum over the juice in each glass and garnish with a fresh orchid or a Pineapple, Orange, and Cherry Blossom, if desired.
