The memorial lecture, first to be organized by the Academy, is the recognition of the quality research work done by Dr. Akbar Hyderi who passed away on 18th September 2012. It may be recalled that during the condolence meeting organized by the Academy to mourn the demise of Dr. Hyderi on 20th September 2012, the Secretary JKAACL, Khalid Bashir Ahmad, had announced that Akbar Hyderi Memorial Lecture will be soon organized in memory of the renowned researcher who belonged to Kashmir but whose fame transcended the boundaries of
Dr. Hyderi wrote about one hundred research oriented books. His in-depth research works include books on Iqbal, Ghalib, Mir, Anees and Dabeer.
