British Soap Queen Wendy Richard Passes Away
The former Eastender actress and Britain's unconquered T.V. Star Wendy Richard succummbed to cancer and died at the age of 65 in the Harley Street Clinic in London. At the time of her death, her husband, Mr.John Burns, whom she had married in last October was at her bedside.
She had fought to over come cancer twice previously in 1990 and 2002. The dreaded disease which was dormant for sometime returned in last October by spreading into her kidnies and bones and took away her life.
She is best remembered as the Cardigan-wearing matriach Paulin Folwer in Eastenders which character she had played for a record number of 21 years.
She was awarded MBE for services to Television in 2000.
Tributes have poured in from across the showbusiness world in recognition of the services of this great British T.V. actress.
