CJ asks people to avail benefits of these Clinics
Srinagar, October 11 (Scoop News) - The Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Ibrahim Kalif-Ullah has asked the people to avail the benefits of legal aid clinics framed to provide free legal service in their local areas.
Justice Kalif-Ullah said this while inaugurating the legal court clinics at Dara and Fakir Gujri of district
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Justice said people particularly living in far flung and backward area can now take advantage of these clinics by of getting free legal service for solving their disputes therein, which will save the time and money otherwise required for moving to the courts and government offices.
He said the idea would lessen the burden of courts and people would get their disputes related to land, irrigation, matrimonial cases, engagement of Aganwadi workers, implementation of welfare schemes and likewise solved at these clinics.
Justice Kalif-Ullah said that para-legal volunteers of the areas have be engaged which in consultation with Sarpanches will make people aware about the and importance of these clinics and put forth the grievances before the legal experts who would provide legal assistance to them. They will remain available to the people for six days in a week, he added. Justice Kalif-Ullah directed the Deputy Commissioner to depute social Welfare Officer in these areas once in a week so that matters pertaining to the Social Welfare Schemes could be discussed and grievances be redressed thereof.
He said that District Session Judge and Deputy Commissioner will visit once in a month to these clinics/areas to review the functioning of these clinics and said such clinics have already been organized in Ganderbal, Anantnag and Baramulla which produced fruitful results.
The Chief Justice also interacted with the locals of Fakir Gujri and they put forth their grievances and directed the District Administration for their early settlement.
On this occasion, the High Court Judge Justice Virender Singh also threw light on the importance of free legal aid clinics and asked people to take full benefits of this new innovation.
