Cynthia Rodriguez: A-Rod Fainted at Baby Birth

The Associated Press is reporting that Cynthia Rodriguez will tell on TV how her husband, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, passed out during the birth of their daughter Natasha in November 2004.

YES Network's "YESterdays" plans to broadcast the episode Wednesday, and released excerpts including the following statement by Mrs. Rodriguez on how A-Rod fares under pressure: "As tough and big as he seems, he is real wimpy around doctors or any type of medical situation."

"The one nurse had a cold cloth on his head. The other nurse had the blood pressure on his arm. And my mother was like rubbing his back. And he is passed out on a couch. And I am there, in the middle of labor."

Mr. Rodriguez has previously been the target of various rumors of adultery and wild nightlife antics. Alex and Cynthia met at a gym in 1996 in Miami, and Cynthia claims she had no idea who he was at the time.

The couple have a second daughter, Ella Alexander Rodriguez.
