DUJ to celebrate May Day and 63rd Anniversary Meeting
According to S K Pande,General Secretary,DUJ, the function will held at the DUJ premises between 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m on April 30, 2012.
Pande said that May Day has always been an important day for us to celebrate the solidarity of workers and to strengthen our union. Today, the rights attained by glorious struggles and great sacrifices are being snatched away by market forces in collusion with central and state governments.
It has been the tradition of the DUJ to celebrate May Day, either a day before or the day after, to enable our members and others to participate in other May Day and associated programmes on the 1st of May,Pande said.
He said that let this be a day for stocktaking and rededicating ourselves to the struggle against the neo-liberal offensive and impact. Let us pledge and declare more and more unity and also celebrate the gains of our union now 63 years old as also of the working class movement in general.
Pande said that the meeting will also take serious note of the non-implementation of the wage board in the newspaper industry, contracts of bondage, increasing censorship of TU struggles and evolve broad contours of action.
