Don’t panic, Div Com Kashmir urges people
Srinagar, January 15 (Scoop News) –The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon ordered the Health Officer SMC and Public Analyst to collect samples of milk for checking for adulteration. The samples of milk from Khyber, Zam Zam and JKMPCL Cheshmashahi brand name Snow Cap, have been sent for testing and the results are awaited. 8 samples of loose milk were found adulterated with water and prosecution initiated. Around 5000 litres of loose milk from local vendors was found not conforming to standards and destroyed on spot in the last two months.
The Divisional Commissioner while speaking to media said that people should not worry as the Divisional Administration is geared up and all possible measures will be taken to ensure supply of unadulterated milk to the general public.
