GOI provided Funds for KP transit Accommodation in Kashmir

Jammu, March 14 (Scoop News) -Minister of State for Revenue  Aijaz Ahmad Jan while replying to a calling attention notice by  Vijay Bakaya said that Government of India has provided funds for construction of transit accommodation at various places in Kashmir Valley which include District Kupwara also.

The Minister said that accommodation is basically meant for those Kashmiri Migrants who actually return to Kashmir Valley under the Prime Minister’s Package for Return and Rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants. The Government is not under obligation to provide accommodation to those employees who have been appointed under the said package and posted there, this issue was also deliberated upon in the last Apex Advisory Committee for Kashmiri Migrants meeting held on18.9.2012 at Srinagar under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister and it was explicitly made clear in the meeting that the employees presently provided temporary accommodation at various places in Kashmir Valley on sharing basis in different transit camps are not basically entitled for the same.

The minister said that the employees have to arrange accommodation at their own level at the places of posting.

The transit accommodation is meant for those families who intend to return to Kashmir Valley as per PM’s Package, he added.
