J&K Tourism Department plan for development of a “Harmony Park” over River Tawi



Jammu, November 24 (Scoop News) – Tourism Department would conceptualize a comprehensive plan for development of a unique and distinctive “Harmony Park” symbolizing religious harmony and brotherhood among various religions over Tawi River, Jammu in the vicinity of upcoming Sidhra Golf Course. The basic concept for the harmony park shall be imbibed from the spiritual garden and “Garden of 5 senses” developed by former President Dr. Abdul Kalam in the President House.


Direction in this regard was given by the Minister for Tourism and Culture,  Nawang Rigzin Jora while inspecting the site of Yagya Shalla being organized by Sant Bal Yogeshear to pay homage/tributes to the martyrs of nation through special hawans to be represented by the people from all religions. (Sarva Dharam Gatri Mahayagya). About 121 Hawan Kunds have been already put in place at the Yagya Shalla where Mahayagya (Hawan) would start from tomorrow. Apart from thousands of people from different parts of the country relatives and guardians of martyrs of the country including martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai and Kargil are also expected to participate in the hawan.


The Minister directed the Director Tourism, Jammu,  R. K. Verma to consult the Sant Bal Yogeshwar also for development of the proposed Harmony Park. Such initiatives would also supplement Government endeavours for tourism promotion in the State.


Sant Bal Yogeshwar briefed the Tourism Minister about the objective of the Maha Yagya and said that need of the hour was to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, religious harmony to uphold values of humanism.
