JK Govt. declares Gen. Zorawar Singh Palace a protected monument



Srinagar, September 25 (Scoop News) The Government has declared the ancient Monument of General Zorawar Singh Palace Vijay Pur, District Reasi as a protected Monument.


            A notification to this effect was issued by Tourism Department today.


            The notification reads: “In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of section 3 of the Jammu and Kashmir Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, Samvat, 1977 (Act No. V of 1977), the Government hereby declare the ancient Monument of General Zorawar Singh Palace Vijay Pur, District Reasi falling under Khasra No. 31 Abadi as a protected Monument within the meaning of the said Act.


            Further, in pursuance of Sub-section (2) of the aforesaid section3, it is intimated that any objection to the issuance of this notification shall be received by the Government within two months from the date of fixation of the notification at a conspicuous place of the said monument.”
