Lt Gen Nehra hands over command of white knight corps to Lt Gen Nandal

Jammu, November 01 (Scoop News)-Lt Gen AS Nandal, took over as new General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps. In a solemn ceremony held at

Headquarters of the Corps at Nagrota today, Lt Gen JP Nehra handed over the baton to the new GOC.

Speaking on the occasion, Gen Nehra complimented all ranks of the Corps for their unstinted support during his command. The General also thanked the civil administration for the excellent synergy with the armed forces. He also highlighted the important role played by the `Awaam’ in ensuring that terrorists were kept on the run by the
security forces.

Lt Gen AS Nandal, who earned the distinction of being the 25th GOC of the White Knight Corps, is a second generation Army officer. He has a varied operational experience of serving in both J&K and North East. Amongst his earlier stints in the J&K State are important assignments of Commander 1 Sector RR in 2004-05 and GOC Victor Force from March 2009 to July 2010. The General has had the first hand experience of tackling the agitational environment in the Valley.

General Nandal has widely travelled around the world while he held the coveted appointment of Director Military Affairs in the Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division of Ministry of External Affairs. Before assuming the command of the White Knight Corps Gen Nandal was Additional Director General in the COAS Secretariat at New Delhi.
