Mohan Nepali Recognition Award
Mohan Nepali has been a consistent contributor to GroundReport and its leading voice reporting from Nepal. Since joining GroundReport in December 2007, he has written 339 articles, about 10 per month. His writing is very popular. His article on the massacre of immigrants on the border of Mexico and the United State was the third most viewed article last month.
The other September Recognition Award winners are:
Syed Ali Mujtaba Syed
We will be profiling each of them over the next couple of weeks.
These awards are made possible through a grant from an anonymous benefactor. The advertising revenue generated by the site is used to fund its computer infrastructure and technical support. Each award winner will receive $30 via Paypal. Paypal is the only economical way to transfer the money so all GR reporters need to add a Paypal Address to their profile.
Due to restricts on Paypal in Nepal, which prevented him from receiving his cash award, Mohan contributed his $30 Recognition Award to charity. We have decided to use it as the first contribution to the GroundReport endowment fund that will be set up in the next month or so.
Groundreport is committed to providing a free platform on which all journalists can have a voice and all points of view and interests across the spectrum are represented.
