Online Pornography Growing in Bangladesh

Dhaka, May 18: Few days ago there was a big dispute about a girl’s series nude photo. That girl is a member of a most respective family in Bangladesh. Her photo on internet was unexpected for this respective family. Viewers of the photos told that the boyfriend of the girl took those photos. Few photos show the kissing scene of the girl and her boyfriend.

Nowadays pornography is a common but unexpected issue in Bangladesh. Most of the pornographic photos/movies are taking by hidden cameras where the girls are not aware of it. Multimedia mobile phones are the main container of such photos and videos. In Bangladesh, you don’t need to go VCD shops to buy pornographic movies. Now there is more that ten pornographic websites exclusively made for Bangladesh. Surprisingly, Jouxxxxxxxx.com (not real address) is the top ranked web portal of Bangladesh. This is a site made for Bangladeshi people. Any one can store pornographic related photos, movies and stories on those sites. Whatever, this development is destroying the ethics of Bangladeshi people.

Dr. Rahnuma Ahmed, a famous anthropologist in Bangladesh, told reporter, girls are the main victim of cyber pornography. Girls need to be more aware about that issue because awareness can eliminate the possibility of becoming a victim of explicit photo or video clips.

M. Shoeb Chowdhury, the president of SkyBD (internet service Provider Company), told reporter, our government is not taking adequate steps to fight cyber pornography. Government need to implement cyber law more strictly.

Cyber pornography can destroy a girl’s life. Ethically these things must not be allowed. It can obstruct a life, a family and a society. Government needs to strengthen the cyber law. These social criminals need to be punished.
