Pakistan continues to violate ceasefire agreement in Krishna Ghati sector

Jammu,June 17 (Scoop News) –  Pakistan once again fired on Indian posts on Line of Control (LC) in the Krishna Ghati Sector last night, without any provocation from the Indian side,defence spokesman said..

He said that the heavy automatic and small arms fire, which commenced at approx 2215 hours on 16 Jun 2012, was simultaneously opened from at least 12 different Pak posts. Later, at approx  2315 hours, Pak also opened mortars in the same area and fired a large number of high explosive rounds on Indian posts.  The firing continued till around  0030 hours  on 17 Jun 2012.

He said that our troops exercised utmost restraint and the response to Pak firing, though controlled, was effective fire. The Indian Army continues to maintain a high level of alert all along the LC.  The situation is tense but well  under  control.
