Peerzada, Bhalla asks teachers to maintain regularity in schools
Jammu,October 25 (Scoop News)- Minister for School Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed and Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla on Tuesday visited the Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar and inspected the ongoing works on prestigious teachers’ Bhawan and state- of- the- art auditorium. The twin projects being developed with all modern facilities would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 14 crore.
Interacting with the locals, Mr Sayeed said that on completion of projects, the teachers and students will be able to conduct extracurricular activities in a systematic manner, while the teachers coming from districts for official purpose would be able to get proper accommodation in the winter capital. He informed that 23175 sft area auditorium will have two floors with facilities of 500 persons seating capacity, 4 toilet blocks, dormitory, guest room, TV room, Dinning hall, kitchen, provision of HVAC system, audio visual, PAS, genset, AVR of 300 KVA, kitchen, store, office, lounge including 3300 sq ft basement for organizing seminars and exhibitions.
He said , likewise the Teacher’s Bhawan would be constructed over an area of 23175 sft consisting of two floors with facilities of 50-room with toilet facilities, 3300 sft basement, dormitory, guest room, TV room besides provision of HVAC system, audio visual, PAS, genset and AVR of 300 KVA. He asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing works by April 2012 and use quality material adding Government has resolved to create durable assets across the State.
Responding to the demands of teacher fraternity, the Minister said Central Government has allocated Rs 69 crore under Rashtriya Madhyamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) for opening and upgrading of High and Higher Secondary Schools in every constituency of the State with latest infrastructural facilities. He said 69 schools would be upgraded under RAMSA across the state adding that Rs. 58 lakh would be spent on construction of additional rooms and 15 lakh for science laboratories in each newly upgraded high and higher secondary schools. Sayed asked the teaching fraternity to impart quality education to the students so that they become good citizens of the country. He said the Government opened scores of new schools with primary schools at every one-kilometer distance across the so that the students could get education at their doorstep institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said the Government was making all out efforts to eradicate illiteracy from every nook and corner of the state by opening and upgrading scores of new schools.
He said Government institutions have well qualified staff and better infrastructure adding that many govt run schools achieved cent percent results in board examinations. He said the Government was also providing scholarships, free uniforms and books to the children belonging to the weaker sections of the society.
The Minister said coalition Government is making concerted efforts to provide all infrastructural facilities to the students with the provision for quality education to enable them compete at national and international levels. To ease rush in city schools, he said Government has opened 12 new schools in Gandhi Nagar constituency so that the students could get education at their doorstep institutions.
Highlighting the role of the teachers and parents in the life of children, he said a child is nourished by parents, while the teacher shapes his personality and gives his life a direction.
Later, Sayeed and Bhalla visited Government Higher Secondary School, Bhour Camp and inaugurated examination hall, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 17.70 lakh. They also inaugurated and Laboratory building at R. S Pura
During their visit to School, the Ministers interacted with the students and inquired about their interests and quality of education in their respective institutions.
