People’s participation imperative for speedy development : Bhalla



 Jammu, April 13 (Scoop News) -     Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation  Raman Bhalla today said that the people’s participation was imperative for speedy developed of the state adding that Central Government is providing liberal funding for early completion of ongoing flagship projects in the state.


This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering at Kanshipuram Ashram in Lower Gadigarh in Jammu today.


 Bhalla greeted the people on the eve of Baisakhi and said that Baisakhi marks the commencement of the harvesting season, when farmers reap the fruit of their hardwork. He observed that the celebration of this festival is a shining example of our glorious pluralistic tradition. He prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the state.


Responding to the demands of the people,  Bhalla assured the people that their genuine grievances would be redressed in a phase manner adding that there is no constraint of funds in making the lower Gadigarh a model area.


Listening the development works taken up by the government in lower Gadigarh, the Minister said government has earmarked Rs. 3.23 crore for construction of hospital. He said the hospital would be dedicated to the people of the area in next year with all modern facilities at par with Gandhi Nagar Hospital.


For facilitating the people of the area,  Bhalla said that government has sanctioned Rs. 1.6 crore for the construction of double storey multipurpose community hall, adding that the project is under progress on war footing and would be completed by March 2013 with the facilities of Kitchen, parking and lawn facilities. He said after dedication of hall, the locals would arrange their religious as well as social functions on nominal fee.


At Gangyal, the Minister kick started construction work of lanes and drains, for which government has earmarked Rs. 15 lakh. He asked the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of project by fixing paver tiles including grating.


He said government was committed to provide all basic amenities like safe drinking water, road connectivity, health care, education, power, besides better lanes and drains to the people of the three regions of the state. He asked the executing agency to use quality material on development works. He said that during the last three years of the coalition government, several development projects have been completed adding that a blue print for massive development of the state has been conceptualized which shall be executed in next 3 years of the present regime. He called upon the people to come forward and strengthen the hands of coalition government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.


Later, the Minister also visited Catti Padsahi Gurdwara at Talab Tillo and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state.
