Slumdog Millionaire Nominated for Oscars

Slumdog Millionaire has again created history by getting nominated into Oscars this year in 10 different categories. Slumdog... is based on a novel by Vikash Swarup and stars Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in lead among others.

The film has been nominated in the following categories:

    * Achievement in Cinematography - Anthony Dod Mantle
    * Achievement in Direction - Danny Boyle
    * Achievement in Film Editing - Chris Dickens
    * Achievement in Music (Original Score) - A R Rahman
    * Achievement in Music (Original Song) (Two Nominations) A R Rahman
   * Best Motion Picture - Christian Colson
    * Achievement in Sound Editing - Tom Sayers
    * Achievement in Sound Mixing - Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke, Resul Pookutty
    * Adapted Screenplay - Simon Beaufoy

The 81st Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2008 will be presented on 22 February, 2009, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center, and televised live by the ABC Television Network.
