'Slumdog Millionaire' Sweeps Oscars

"Slumdog Millionaire" added another precious cap to its feathers - The Oscars. The movie was nominated in 10 different categories and won 8 Oscars, including Best Motion Picture.

The 81st Annual Academy Awards' ceremony took place in Los Angeles.

Besides Best Motion Picture, the movie won the awards for the following categories:

Best Music (Score) -- AR Rahman

Best Music (Song) -- AR Rahman

Best Director -- Danny Boyle

Best Film Editing -- Chris Dickens

Best Sound Mixing -- Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke and Resul Pookutty

Best Cinematography -- Anthony Dod Mantle and

Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay) -- Simon Beaufoy

All in all, it was a very good result for Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire" which is an adaptation of a novel called "Q & A" by an Indian author.
