Twenty Militants Killed in Bajure Tribal Area of Pakistan

Twenty-one militants were killed and 30 others were injured during a security forces operation in Bajure on Wednesday. Admiral Mike Mullen had held a meeting in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gailani. According to a press release issued by the US embassy in Pakistan, the meeting was held in cordial atmosphere between the two leaders.

"Sixteen persons were killed in rocket and bomb attack on the US embassy in Sana capital of Yemen on Wednesday," said state-owned media in Pakistan.

US forces incursions into the Waziristan tribal area during the last week were widely condemned by political leaders and column writers. In these attacks good number of women and children were killed.

To stress for the release of 25 police recruits of the Police Training Center Hangu in Wadpaga area of Peshawar, a road was blocked by protestors on Tuesday, two police recruits were slaughtered earlier this week by abductors and the dead bodies of the recruits were recovered from Shahu Khel area of Hangu. Sources have said that Taliban commander Hakeemullah, a cousin of Baitullah Mehsood, is responsible for abduction and killings of police recruits. He is based in Orakzai Agency and abducted recruits are also kept in Orakzai Agency. Commander Hakeemullah is originally from Waziristan but leading a militants group in Orakzai Agency.
