Warid to start get Prothom Alo news service

Warid Telecom in cooperation with the country’s largest circulated Bangla daily The Prothom Alo launched a value added service to provide news services to its subscribers.

Under the new service, both prepaid and postpaid subscribers of Warid telecom will be able to listen the latest news by dialling 2221 or get news update by typing ‘news’ and send it to 2221.

Warid Telecom management hoped that the valued customers will enjoy the service as they will able to get the latest and breaking news from any part of the country just dialling or sending SMS to the designated short code. 

Warid Telecom, a subsidiary of UAE-based Abu Dhabi Group, launched its commercial operation in Bangladesh in May 10, 2007 as the sixth the mobile phone operator. Within one year, the company became fourth largest operator by acquiring nearly 3.5 million subscribers through spreading its network to all the 64 districts.
