Bio

Born in 1978, Michael Martarano grew up in the urban landscape of abandoned factories and silk mills of Paterson, NJ during a period of extreme poverty and tension in American inner cities. It is from this environment that Michael attributes much of his inspiration. After having lived, studied and worked as a visual artist in New York City and Berlin, Germany. Michael has settled in New Haven, Connecticut where he is currently working on sketch and photographic series, creative writing, composing music, and producing sound installations.
