Obama And The Malaysian Reaction

Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia:-

Protectionism. This was the only word heard from our politicians here when commenting on Obama's victory in the states.

Besides that, leaders from both sides of the political spectrum here,did not expect much change in American Foreign Policy.

"They come and go, but their policy remains the same,"says one Government Minister.

With Democrats in the White House, at least they will not pressure the littoral states to police the Malacca straits. Our leaders expects more discussions and persuasions.

As for the man in the streets, they concurred that war on terrorism will be more intensified. However, it will not be on the battlefield.
