Our speech is indicative of our character

The proper use of language is to convey our thoughts to others in a way that they can understand, and in a way that others in a way that they can understand, and in a way that shows proper respect to the listeners.

By themselves words are only sounds, but they are sounds to which a meaning has been given. Each word stands for an idea that we have in our minds. So when we use words they tell other people what is in our minds. We express good and high ideas in good words, but bad words and phrases express only low and evil thoughts.

If our words and expressions are not accepted in ordinary polite conversation, it shows our thoughts are evil which people do not like. We are as bad as the words we use.

If anyone does not offend with his tongue, he is polite and his words are proper. The tongue is a very small part of our body, but it is the part that does the greatest harm if not used properly.

The way we speak to others is good sign of the respect we have for them. We should use such a respectful language that people understand.

Some people show off by speaking a language that only some in the group understand. This is a kind of disrespect to those who do not understand it.

We speak in many languages. No language can claim to better than the other. One should not hesitate to learn as many languages as one can. Of course, you must learn well the language you use, because, it is necessary for you in order to learn other subjects. Sometimes, people quarrel over a language. It is silly.

You should, therefore, learn to be polite in your use of words. Remember, our speech is indicative of our character.
