Pakistan blocked access to 800 pages over "blasphemy"



 Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan has blocked 800 pages and links due to blasphemous material.


 
It is the series of crackdown that has already blocked the access to facebook and youtube due to blasphemous material.
 
The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) banned access to facebook due to some user's "Everyone Draw Muhammad (PBUH) day".
 
Apparently the pages and links reated to blasphemous material were blcked quickly.
 
The news of this competition triggered a series of protest rallies all over Pakistan.
 
PTA told the media the ban could be lifted after receiving the instructions from the government.
 
Moreover, a campaign was also launched by the users of Muslim countries around the globe  to boycott the facebook on the 20th of May when the competition was being held.
