Peace and Women Involvement is necessary for sustainable Development,
CHITRAL: A one day training workshop was held here in Booni on Women rights and Peace building, the program was organized by Easy and Equitable Access to Justice Program for Women a project of Legal Awareness Program for Human Rights (LAPH) funded by Trocaire. Niaz Ali Shah Chairman LAPH briefed the participants about over all achievements and future plan of the organization. Speaking on the occasion Moulana Fasi U Rahman Tehsil Khatib Mustuj said that Women rights were guaranteed by holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for the first time in the history of mankind; therefore, nobody should be allowed to marginalize women in society in the name of Islam. Moulana Fasi also emphasized the peace building and conformed that miscommunication are the core causes of conflicts and tension among peole. While in his speech Mr, Sardar a Religious Scholar highlighted the need of women empowerment expressed that Sustainable development is not possible without the involvement of the women segment in the development process, and there is a vital need to involve women in the development process for the betterment of the society. Mr. Niaz Ali Shah, Chairman LAPH, stressed on the need of peace building harmony among sects for balanced society for sustainable development. He said that women are often ignoring in decision making and depriving from property rights. As well as they facing lack of access to legal aid and justice due to our customary practices and they face lack of institutional mechanism for protection and rehabilitation.
Mr. Kashafat Younus, The Chief Guest of the occasion said that LAPH is working on good cause and He also confirmed that Workshop like this is essential in the present scenario and this workshop is first of its kind in the area. He thanked all the LAPH Team for their hard work and achievements. Ms. Noushaba, Chairperson HRMC Booni her views regarding the establishment of human Rights Monitoring Committee (HRMC) in Booni and thanked all the participants. The Workshop was also attended by Mr. Irfan Qazi, Project Coordinator, Qazi Zaffar, Finance Officer, Ms. Aysia Dawood, M&E Officer and Ms Amina Social Organizer LAPH chitral.
