Positive News: Reporting on What's Good

Something nice to hear,

News as we report it,  is what is happening around us. We assume it will interest the reader or that it is necessary to convery it to them. Thats what makes us decide if its newsworthy or not. Reporters decide what should be read  by others. Not vise versa.

So, most of the time people read what is reported even though they donot want to read it or see it. They too get into the habit of just going through the news as a means of knowing whats happening around.

What good does this do? Well, certianly an incident should be reported so that people would know to avoid and area or just to know what is going on.

There is the other side of it too. When we hear news about violence, killings, hatred and war over and over again,  it reduces the self respect of people and emphasise the diminishing social values. Then it might even make it ok to do it since everyone is doing it and its newsworthy and pulicised. 

Yet again people tend to get into bad moods when they hear bad news.

My aim is to provide news that is welcoming and uplifting. Things that will enhance self respect and show the goodness of people. Which in turn will make others imitate and achieve goodness. Please join me in giving "something nice to hear"

I am sure in our own little way we can contribute to uplift a few lives, it will certainly make my day if I can achieve this!
