Sufi Muhammad takes out a peace procession in Swat today
Mingora: It is a sunny and beautiful day in the valley of Swat, the valley that has been burning in the hell of insurgency for more than 2 years and today it seemed a bit calm and peaceful.
Today, the head of a banned organization from Malakand agency Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Sharia Muhammadia (TNSM), Maulana Sufi Muhammad takes out a peace rally in Mingora city.
After signing the Nizam-e-Adl accord (Islamic Judiciary system) with the government the head of the banned organization, Sufi Muhammad returned to Swat valley yesterday.
Today he took out a peace rally in Mingora and marched across the streets of the city wherein thousands of students, traders and people participated in the procession.
This peace procession will help to restore the confidence of the people of Swat who had been badly hit by the terrorist incidents for more than a year.
After the rally, Sufi Muhammad will start the negotiations with the insurgent groups, engaged in fighting with the security forces and he will convince them to abandon the armed struggle and restore the peace in the valley.
Commenting on the Nizam-e-Adl accord, the US State department’s spokesman said that the law that is passed and soon to be implemented in Malakand agency, is the part of Pakistan’s constitution and US does not have any reservations on that.
Moreover, the provincial president of the ruling party in N.W.F.P, Afrasiab Khattak, termed the accord a great success and a milestone towards peace in Swat valley in the coming days.
