The Grass Is Always Greener

Cry and cry again, my love
My valley has withered in wilderness
Happy days have fallen into the darkness of night
Here down in my valley grass wags its smile in gray delight
And over there in those distant horizons of the other land
On the other side of the river
the days are happier in grassy green
always blooming and blushing in thousand delights
Over there the nights are more happier than the brighter suns
Happier than happy is greener than green
the grasshopper chasing the shadows of the raining sky
leafy silence swaying in twinkling stars
On the other side of the river tears flowing in mystic twilight
As if it is cheering in tears of everlasting jay and beauty
Why is my valley sighing in deathly silence?

Why there is no grass wagging in tufts of happiness?
My heart aches for thee, oh my love
Take me into your arms
Take me over there in your world of verdant splendour
Where you frolic like a fairy girl
your dancing feet touching the smell of my heart
Over there, on the other side of the river
You kiss the nectar of flowers
where the grass is greener than green
and happier than happy is the night in blazing suns
Days are more brighter than the looming darkness
When you traverse through many lightyears.

Give thy hand of love
Give me slice of your good harvest
I will sow the seeds of your soul in my valley
My valley is a desert of failing wishes
When I cry for your love again and again
You give me happier than happy of days and nights
greener than green is your breadth of your whole sky
Here in my everlasting days and nights
Here on this side of the river, the gray moon whimpers in soliloquy
No breezy peace hears the sound of my breath
Flowers never whisper, dews never drop on their petals
I wonder whether there will be grass again
Whether the grass will ever be blooming in green again
Whether the sunshine will knock at my cherry orchard
the honeybees making love with the grass
the rhythms of the moon falling over the tide
the rivulets singing in interlude
Cry, my love, cry for me
Give me thy hand of blessings
I will love you to see the days and nights over there
Happier than happy, greener than green.

Over there
On the other side of the river
Still there is grass, the valley is green
Still there is hope and happiness
Always greener than green is the grass
Over there still the grasshopper frolics as ever
Still the burning desire is strewn with the flowers of life
As if the grass will never be withering
As if the rustling of leaves will ever be resembling
Happier than happy, greener than green
Over to over there, the grass is always greener than green.
